Positioning Mosaic Ventures as a thesis-driven VC

Mosaic is a leading early-stage European VC firm with headquarters in London. I joined the team in 2022 to help drum up brand awareness and position the firm as a thesis-driven VC.

An experienced team with a low profile

Mosaic was one of the first early-stage VCs to touch down in Europe, but the team had historically kept a low profile, focusing on making a few high-conviction investments per year.

With early-stage investing becoming increasingly competitive, they wanted to ensure they were known as an experienced team with deep expertise, to be the first choice for outlier founders raising Series A.

When I joined the team, they occasionally published research-led articles and sent out a newsletter, but they wanted to increase engagement and reads.

Turning a great reputation into a well-known one

As Mosaic’s Marketing & Comms Manager, I set out on a mission to make the team known as VCs who do their homework before making investments.

As a first step, I revamped and redesigned their newsletter, putting the research at the forefront and then drow engagement on social media. I also worked hard on securing press features in publications such as Maddyness and Tech EU and speaking slots at conferences like the European Blockchain Convention to increase visibility.

Driving awareness and engagement

In my first 6 months, Mosaic’s monthly website traffic more than doubled, and their articles received 14x more reads. We also saw an increase in social media engagement and shares, and the email opening rates rose by 18%.
